Such an Emergency

Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission PDF

  1. The proposed 180 day time period covered by this moratorium affects the warm season where the prime fishery targets tend to be other species, so not a big deal per se. In my opinion, this is another baby step into an eventual total ban on recreational harvest, but unlike the late '80s, potentially permanent.

  2. Well, the normal regulation process was skirted for an "emergency", zero public opinion, does not affect commercial catches from what I can see, hmmmmm. FM

  3. The Commission allots each state specific commercial tonnages. NJ choose to ban commercial, we actually did something right, LOL, NY too. Others governed by the Commission continue commercial harvest.. IE - MA, VA, RI, NH.

    1. Appalling how commercial tonnages are allowed there, but I can't take home a big striper for my wife to admire.
