Lenny, my friend Oliver fished the river over your way recently. I'm wondering if it was stocked this past spring or fall. He caught nothing, fly fishing nymphs.
My words were intentionally ambiguous. Testy, testy. He fished near the club, not on club grounds. Hope those trout are still getting those nice stretches for a home...a few of them taking leave.
I will never understand why they didn't stock browns in the first place, and if they're stocking now, which I'm dying to know, I doubt any of these reproducing fish.
Bruce, finally saw MW. He said they stock twice a year in Spring and Fall, and last year was the first time they stocked Brown Trout, 25 of them. Usually they stock Rainbow, Tiger, and Palomino. Sorry for being so late with this !
He said because of the makeup of the water, they are limited to how many Brownies can be stocked. That's why last year was the first time they were allowed to stock them. Sounds to me that this will be a yearly decision for them, maybe once every few years.
I'll have to talk to MW to find out the answer. I hope Oliver was invited and not trespassing!

DeleteStop using words I can't understand! Hahaha! Still waiting on MW.

ReplyDeleteGood news. But I wish they would stock more browns. That way the club would be a nursery.

ReplyDeleteAt least they have not stocked sewer trout, but then again it is brown. lol. Fred
ReplyDeleteI guess the other side of a sewer trout is a one-eyed trouser trout.
