LH Reaches 80 Degrees

Fished today but back too late to post as yet.

Laurie Murphy:

Fish are settling into their summer patterns with water temps reaching the 80 degree mark in the shallower water. Lots of big hybrid stripers are being caught now at night on rat-l-traps, top water heddon spooks,  and bomber lures, and on live herring during the day.  The Walleye bite has also been steady, hitting jerkbaits at night and vertical jigging and live bait has been  best during the day. Crappie fishing has remained good , with lots of big yellow perch being caught on deep structure. Lake Hopatcong Guide Service has recently expanded and is now offering guided fishing trips for up to 8 people on  new 22’ pontoon boats.  The Knee Deep Club will be holding their Stew Lant Challenge for large and smallmouth Bass on Sunday June 27th. Cash prizes are awarded for the 3 heaviest fish weighed in and rod & reels combos donated by Ramsey Outdoor are awarded for 1st thru 6th place. Bass Season in NJ opens again on June 16th. Have a great week !
